  2. Zubair Hasan says:

Presumably too many conferences are being organized on Islamic finance since the advent of the 21st century. You have listed seven in the seven months of 2010 alone while the list is by no means exhaustive. What these conferences are countributing to the theory or practice of Islamic finance? How many new scholars make their appearance at each? How many papers are sound in structure, language and content? What proportion of conference papers find their way in reputed academic journals? To my mind a cost benefit analysis of these conferences can be a valuable project. I presume the research will report substantive net loss of time and money. As most of these conferences are suppoted by institutional money the thesis would conclude what I often say: these conferences largely provide PRIVATE ENJOYMENT AT PUBLIC COST.

  3. Muhammad says:

    Greetings,

conferences largely provide PRIVATE ENJOYMENT ,BANK CUSTOMERS’ AGONY AT PUBLIC COST.

When Shariah advisers are away attending conferences or courses, Bank customers and staff have to face the agony of delays in decision makings on financings or issues on financings. Thus the agony !
